Mansel's Chippy in Porthcawl is a real gem for anyone craving classic fish and chips by the seaside. I loved my experience here, but if I had one minor criticism, it would be about the seating. The tables and chairs could definitely be better. They're a bit basic and could be more comfortable to make the overall dining experience even better. But honestly, with food this good, a little discomfort is a small price to pay. I'd highly recommend Mansel's to anyone in the area!

Best fish and chips I’ve ever had. We came during a slow time so it was all made to order. I got the gluten free and my sister and her husband got the non-gluten free. All of it was exactly how fish and chips should be. The staff clearly love what they do and take pride in it. And being able to walk a few steps and eat it looking out over the sea is the cherry on top.

We use Mansel’s Chippy as they offer Gluten Free food. Our favourite is the Fish & Chips. Everything is cooked fresh as you place your order. There are a couple of tables and chairs outside if you choose to stay. We love this Chippy! The only bad thing is the Free complimentary coffee while you wait. We hate the taste of the coffee, so placed it in the bins provided. The Chippy is in a fabulous location so you can take the food away and sit in a multiple of places to suit yourself. The Beach is two minutes walk away.

Absolutely devastated that Mansells are leaving on Jan 1st due to the planned renovations. The fish and chips are a delight and fish always cooked fresh and they provide free tea and coffee while you wait. The staff are all very friendly and we will miss you.

Always have lovely, fresh cooked food from here. A big range on offer and very quick service (has two serving stations). There is outdoor seating available for customers. Delicious and relatively good prices. If you visit Porthcawl and fancy take away chippy, grab it from here! The best in the area! Also, their Irish curry sauce is lush!

There's something about good fish and chips on the sea side. By far the best fish and chips we've had since we moved to Wales last year. You can see why they've won so many awards. They have a few tables with chairs outside but they fill up quickly. Testament to their popularity.
